These are the Cliffs of Moher, and pretty impressive too…. It’s a great sight, but incredibly busy, with thousands visiting every day. The central area has marked paths, and the cliff edges are fenced off, but further round, it is much more open, and we saw people perilously close to the edge!

Day 172 – Would You Like…
… to speak to the man in charge, or the woman that knows what’s happening? Sign in a cafe in Nenagh, but certainly appropriate in our house!
Day 171 – Welcome To Dublin…
Maybe not the most attractive view to greet a new arrival in Dublin, but then ferry ports are seldom anything other than run-down/functional. Pleased to say it got better when we left the port…
Day 170 – Floral Tribute…
A sad and happy day today… We went to the funeral of my wife’s eldest cousin who died a couple of weeks ago. Despite the sadness, there was much laughter as relatives and friends met up for the first time in years. This was a simple and moving tribute.
Day 169 – Spick and span…
We are off on holiday (vacation) on Thursday, and I really didn’t want to go in a dirty car, so off to the local hand car wash. Have to say they made a brilliant job of cleaning the car, and at a decent price…
Day 168 – A Little Apiarist…
This is Daisy, aged 10, kitted out for her first lesson in beekeeping from our friend Andrew. I think she found it a little intimidating…
Day 167 – Lazy Sunday Afternoon…
Driving through Eccleshall this afternoon I noticed that with a little welcome sunshine, there were lots of folks around. This group were enjoying a drink at one of the many pubs and bars in town…
Day 166 – Duck or Grouse…
I love great food, and tonight’s dinner at The Hinds Head was no exception. A small family run pub/restaurant where everything is cooked to order – no pre-prepared catering here! And a bonus – there’s been a Gin Festival on in the village, and the pub has a better than usual range available, with special prices for doubles. What’s not to like!
Day 165 – Open Gate…
Sometimes when I see an open gate I wonder where it leads to, and what it is intended to keep in (or out). This gate however is directly in front of our house, and leads into the farmer’s fields. It’s normally left closed to discourage casual walkers, but has been left open by a neighbour taking their dog for a walk…
Day 164 – On The Move…
A ‘wrinklies’ day out – off to the Good Food Show in Birmingham, so a good excuse to go by train. Makes a change from using the car, even if it does take longer, and we had to stand part of the way back as the train was over-full… Still, a great day out overall, and here is the obligatory railway photo.
