Day 232 – The Best Laid Plans…

With good weather forecast for this evening, I was looking forward to an hour or so of sunset photography in Chester while my wife was visiting friends nearby. Sadly it wasn’t to be – the rain started as I got to Chester and didn’t let up until I left. It was too wet to hang around outside, so I just managed a few shots from under cover.

Day 216 – A British Summer…

After our hot and sunny week in Ibiza, we were not unhappy at the prospect of some cooler weather back home. What we didn’t plan on was thunderstorms and torrential rain this afternoon! Fortunately it didn’t last long, and we can expect some kinder weather next week.

Day 215 – Black And White…

So, after an eventful week in Ibiza we are back home in (not so sunny) Staffordshire. With no travel plans upcoming, it’s an opportunity to become familiar with the little Fujifilm X100F camera I bought just before we went away. I plan to shoot much more mono, so expect to see that reflected here.

Day 198 – Once Proud…

Way back in 1975 I worked at Universal Abrasives in Stafford for a few weeks as a process engineer. I hated it, and pretty soon found another job, where I was to stay for almost 35 years before I retired! The factory and machinery have long since gone and the warehouses now only used for logistics, but the office block with this imposing facade still remains, albeit empty…

Day 182 – The Dark Hedges…

Planted around 200 years ago, this row of beech trees near Balleymoney in Northern Ireland has become famous as a location for the Game Of Thrones TV series. It’s busy from dawn to dusk so it proved difficult to get a photo without people in it…
