So today the postman brought me the third ‘instalment’ of a birthday gift from good friends. Another two miniature bottles of craft gin to try… I’m rather enjoying this!

On my own at home today as ‘The Boss’ was out at a baby shower. So a perfect opportunity to indulge in one of my favourite lunches – beans on toast. Even better as it was home made bread….

Walking home along a country lane this evening, the setting sun was behind us and cast the most amazing shadow…
Day 123 – Straight & Narrow…
Not a crop we see around these parts very often, these potato plants were doing very well, helped along by some milder and wetter weather. I was struck by the geometric straight lines

Day 122 – Swing Low, Sweet Chariot…
Although ostensibly we installed these swings in the garden for our two granddaughters, I suspect they also fulfilled a long term ambition of my wife to have something she never had as a child… Anyway, they all get pleasure from them, so that’s the main thing I reckon. 
Day 121 – Short Lived Display…
Despite my best efforts, our lawn has a fair crop of dandelions already this year. Their seed heads only last for a day at most, so an opportunistic shot before the seeds are blown away. 
Day 120 – A Sinking Feeling…
Our local farmer has a store area where he keeps ‘bits and pieces’ (aka junk) that might ‘come in handy’ one day… These were some large Belfast style sinks formerly used as drinking troughs, but now replaced. I wonder how long they will stay there…
Day 119 – A Step Too Far …
Pushing the sliders all the way in Lightroom shows what can (and probably shouldn’t) be done with images – I prefer a more natural look.
