Planted around 200 years ago, this row of beech trees near Balleymoney in Northern Ireland has become famous as a location for the Game Of Thrones TV series. It’s busy from dawn to dusk so it proved difficult to get a photo without people in it…

Day 162 – Another Rainy Day…
So I didn’t really want to go out, but had some chores to do, and we needed food! I pass this barn quite often, and have photographed it in different weather conditions, but never as wet as this… It was always going to have to be a mono shot.
Day 150 – Togetherness…
This monkey is on Half Term holiday this week, and wanted to spend some time with Grandad. So we decided on a bike ride, and jolly good fun it was.
Day 146 – Up And Away…
With leaves back on the trees, this view up the lane near our house doesn’t get any better…
Day 144 – Cast A Long Shadow…
Walking home along a country lane this evening, the setting sun was behind us and cast the most amazing shadow…
Day 128 – Wet And Windy…
On a dry summer’s day, the canal towpath at Audlem would be heaving with people. As well as locals (many of them dog-walkers) there would be lots of tourists too, but today’s wet and windy weather kept them all away.
Day 125 – Looming Clouds…
This is the view from the top of Wenlock Edge, looking out towards Shrewsbury. With a few friends from the local tennis club, we enjoyed a 7 mile ‘sociable’ walk this morning – a gentle pace, with plenty of time for chatting. And then a visit to the local pub for refreshments! A great way to spend Sunday.
Day 124 – End Of The Season…
It may be the end of the soccer season, but it’s also pretty much the end of the bluebell season around here. Yes, there are still quite a few around (overall it’s been one of the best bluebell seasons for years…) but the colour is fading fast. Probably my last day out photographing them this year…
Day 118 – ‘Tis The Season…
Bluebells are typically around for about three weeks here, but the rather changeable weather has already battered them somewhat – I don’t expect them to be at their peak for more than another week at best. All of which encouraged me to get out and photograph bluebells at a different location today, while I still could.
Day 112 – Purple Carpet…
This beautiful spot is little known around here. It’s a small wooded hillside, and every spring has the most amazing display of bluebells and wild garlic. Today was a little bright for the best photos – an overcast sky works best for bringing out the subtle colour of bluebells.
