Day 332 – The Sign Of The Cat…

I’m not a great fan of Black Friday offers – so many are not genuinely new or low offers, but couldn’t resist this bottle of Wildcat Gin. I’d been considering buying it for several weeks at its usual £30 price, so it was a no-brainer at £20. And it didn’t disappoint…!

Day 324 – Croque Monsieur…

We are great fans of Masterchef and watch every episode. Last night, Marcus Wareing set the contestants a challenge to cook a traditional Croque Monsieur – essentially a cooked ham, cheese and cheese sauce sandwich, so I decided to have a go and try it myself tonight. Remembering the method from last night it didn’t turn out too badly…

Day 322 – A Chilly Start…

After several weeks of persistent wet weather, a clear spell yesterday meant a really cold start to today, with mist and a ground frost. With fields all around us, it took only a moment to find a spot to shoot the early morning light.

Day 319 – Oh Dear…

Every year now, John Lewis run a Christmas TV advert, usually featuring a soft toy. My wife is a sucker for these, and of course, as we have two granddaughters, she always buys two of the said toys, even though they are probably getting a little old for such things. Ah well…

Day 316 – Stirring It Up…

It’s become a tradition in our house that we make chutney every year just before Christmas. We enjoy it with cold meat and cheese, but it makes a welcome home-made gift for friends. We also make flavoured vodka and gin, but that’s another story…

Day 313 – Another Project…

I’m not known for being a ‘completer/finisher‘ – indeed some jobs and projects I start at home take a VERY long time to get finished. So here goes with another little model railway project, started of course before the last one is done…
