Day 272 – My New Camera…

Well, it’s actually a new phone – an iPhone 11 Pro. Only released a couple of weeks ago, I was seduced by the three camera lenses it has built in. The usual wide angle as on most iPhones, a telephoto, and a super wide angle. And it’s got improved processing so ideal for low light, and portraits. Not that I’m planning on selling my ‘real’ camera anytime soon, but this is going to be brilliant for everyday photos…

Day 270 – After The Storm…

Weather today was shocking – torrential rain for hours, but it cleared as we were driving home after spending lunchtime and the afternoon with friends, and we were treated to an excellent sunset. This was just a mile or so from home…

Day 269 – Activity Monitoring…

It’s a few years now (2012) since we did any serious running, but we plan to build up to at least 5km (3 miles approx) through the autumn. We are following a plan called c25km (couch to 5km), starting with just 1 minute runs, followed by same time walking. It builds up sharply though!

Day 266 – All Rise…

I was called for Jury Service some 20 years ago, but was discharged from service on the first day as they had a surplus of jurors. This summons came out of the blue, and I doubt I will be as lucky this time. Not that I mind ‘doing my bit’ for justice, but I wouldn’t want to get caught up in a very long running trial in the run up to Christmas holidays.

Day 261 – An Indoor BBQ…

The weather hasn’t been good enough today for our planned BBQ, but that didn’t stop us having the food we planned – sausage kebabs with peppers, tomatoes and home-grown courgettes. Whereas most folks would just randomly pile the elements on to the skewers, in our house it’s an exercise in precision assembly – note the symmetry!

Day 257 – All Rise…

I usually make bread in the bread making machine – it’s just a question of popping the ingredients in, switching the machine on, and there’s a decent loaf of bread two hours later. No artificial ingredients and it tastes better than shop bread. Today I decided to make bread rolls – not bad for a first attempt – maybe a bit on the large side and with wholemeal flour perhaps a little ‘heavy’. Definitely edible though…
