Our take on Beer Can Chicken… Chicken was rubbed with Jack Daniels BBQ glaze, and allowed to marinate for a couple of hours before being set up on the BBQ with cola instead of beer inside. With vegetables around the outside and the grill running at around 180°, it took about an hour and a half to cook and was delicious!

Day 219 – Just Desserts…
After a full day working in the garden, a ‘special’ gin and tonic was the least we deserved, even if we were almost too tired to enjoy it! Very handy having our own ‘cocktail corner’ in the kitchen…
Day 218 – Red Letter Day…
Just sometimes, it all comes together! I was wandering around Shrewsbury this afternoon and saw this guy in a red jacket walking towards me, with a red post box and phone box close by. With the camera set to f8 and auto everything, I literally just managed one shot, and it worked…
Day 217 – Roses Are Red…
… and lots of other colours too. My wife loves flowers, especially roses, so this jumbo bunch of multi-colored blooms looked perfect for our kitchen.
Day 216 – A British Summer…
After our hot and sunny week in Ibiza, we were not unhappy at the prospect of some cooler weather back home. What we didn’t plan on was thunderstorms and torrential rain this afternoon! Fortunately it didn’t last long, and we can expect some kinder weather next week.
Day 215 – Black And White…
So, after an eventful week in Ibiza we are back home in (not so sunny) Staffordshire. With no travel plans upcoming, it’s an opportunity to become familiar with the little Fujifilm X100F camera I bought just before we went away. I plan to shoot much more mono, so expect to see that reflected here.
Day 214 – Last Night Blues…
So, after our family left this afternoon, we had a few hours to relax before a last meal and packing for our return trip tomorrow. Back to reality it is then, with lawns to mow, washing to get done and a trip to the supermarket. Next holiday is Santorini in October – can’t wait!
Day 213 – Torre Del Mar (2) …
Our hotel in Ibiza. It’s been a great, albeit very short break, and we just have tomorrow left, and then our flight home on Saturday. Over 30 years since we were last here, and probably not somewhere I would rush back to, but a super holiday anyway.
Day 212 – For Sale – Bargain Price…
Yours, for a mere $135m… Apparently it belongs to Nancy Laurie, of the Walmart dynasty, and is reputedly for sale as she has bought an even bigger yacht… But if you prefer to just charter it, it’s yours for just $850,000 (a week, that is…!)
Day 211 – Torre Del Mar…
Our hotel is apparently named after this old tower that has been preserved and sits in the middle of the swimming pool. What better way to enjoy the view and the sunshine than with a cold beer!
