It really does look like these ducks are walking on water – in fact it has been really cold over the last few days and there was a thick layer of ice just below the surface of this pool in Nantwich. The ducks were making the most of it!

Walking home along a country lane this evening, the setting sun was behind us and cast the most amazing shadow…
Ignoring the forecast of rain, we walked a section of the South West Coastal Path in Cornwall today. Such beautiful scenery, enhanced by a colourful display of spring flowers, including this Pink Thrift. A nice walk, good friends, and a good pub for lunch – what’s not to like?
This is the view from the top of Wenlock Edge, looking out towards Shrewsbury. With a few friends from the local tennis club, we enjoyed a 7 mile ‘sociable’ walk this morning – a gentle pace, with plenty of time for chatting. And then a visit to the local pub for refreshments! A great way to spend Sunday.
We truly are very lucky to live where we do – this walk through the woods and across the fields starts right outside our door. On a beautiful spring day, there’s no excuse for not getting out and enjoying it…
Our 10 year old granddaughter wanted ‘an adventure’ today, so as it was fine we decided to climb The Wrekin. This 1335ft hill is the highest point around here, and although there is a clear and reasonably well maintained path, it’s still a fair climb – around 1.5 miles in distance, but almost 1000ft in elevation. Views from the top are amazing…
Not only is The Red Lion my favourite pub, but it’s also a brewery! The pub dates back to 1623 and the brewery was built on the site in 2010, brewing Slumbering Monk ale and Green Monkey craft lager. With great food too, it’s a popular stop on our walks in the area.
