Day 234 – Drink, Anyone…?

As part of a larger tidy-up project we are doing at home, I tidied and sorted our drinks cupboard out. Having reduced the number of different gin bottles I had from a rather excessive 35 down to just over 20 I was able to get them, and my modest whisky collection, all in one cupboard. And I came across a few I had forgotten about!

Day 233 – Rise And Shine…

I was awake even earlier than usual this morning and around 6am saw that the light was promising. Grabbed shoes and my camera and walked the few yards to the farm gate nearby. Just time to snatch a few shots before the sun came up fully and the beautiful colours disappeared.

Day 232 – The Best Laid Plans…

With good weather forecast for this evening, I was looking forward to an hour or so of sunset photography in Chester while my wife was visiting friends nearby. Sadly it wasn’t to be – the rain started as I got to Chester and didn’t let up until I left. It was too wet to hang around outside, so I just managed a few shots from under cover.

Day 231 – Work In Progress…

I spent the afternoon building some new steps in the garden to replace some that had rotted away. Serious construction work with the structure made from 8”x 2” timber. Thank goodness for some decent power tools! Just an hour or so I reckon tomorrow to finish it off …

Day 226 – A Stately Pile…

Stokesay Castle near Ludlow is one of the finest surviving medieval fortified homes in England. It was built around 1285 by a wealthy local wool merchant, and remained in the same family for almost 400 years. It is currently owned by English Heritage and is open to the public.
